KUALA LUMPUR: Former Pahang menteri besar Datuk Abdul Rahim Abu Bakar died at his Jalan U-Thant home here at 7.10pm yesterday.
He is believed to have died of a heart attack. He was 66.
His second child, Rosnita, 35, said her father was waiting for the azan call when her mother, Datin Rosnah Kamaruddin, found him unconscious.
She said they contacted paramedics from Gleneagles Intan Medical Centre, who pronounced him dead.

"My father did not show any strange signs prior to his death. As far as we know, he was not suffering from any illness. His death could be due to a heart attack," she said.
Rosnita said all her brothers and sisters were at their father's side when he passed away.
He would be buried at the Taman Kosas Muslim Cemetery after Friday prayers at Kampung Pandan Mosque, she said.
Rahim leaves a wife, four children -- Roslina, 37, Rosnita, Mohd Rizal, 32, and Rosazreen, 25 -- and four grandchildren.
Born on Feb 7, 1943 in Beserah, Kuantan, Rahim started his political career as the state assemblyman for Beserah after winning the seat during the 1978 general election.
The University of Malaya economics graduate was Pahang menteri besar from July 19, 1978 to Nov 7, 1981. -- Bernama

Malam td tgh sibuk tgk tv, tibe2 sepupu aku sms dan bitau pakcik sedara dah meninggal dan berita ade keluar dlm buletin utama....aku x perasan sbb tgk tv lain huhuhu...
Mase kecik2 dulu slalu je raya kat umah arwah di Kuantan dan slalu dpt byk juge duit raya...hehehe tp arwah dah jrg raya di Kuantan maybe busy agaknye sbb tu laaaa makcik aku tlg tgkkan dan bersihkan rumah arwah.
Tp aku xtau la saudara drp Kuantan akan pergi lawat jenazah di KL, kalau ikut citenye akan kebumi di KL, aku nak je pegi melawat tp xde geng plak, sepupu yg knal rapat dgn die xbalik KL lg, nak gi sorang kang puas nak kena explain lak anak sape2 kan, maklum laa kalu xde mak ayah mmg susah org nak kenal muke pun dah berubah sgt.....ape yg aku xleh lupe ialah arwah still igt aku ni anak sedara die smpikan ade saudara mara nak carikan calon isteri leh naik lak name aku, means kewujudan aku dlm salasilah keluarga yg ramai dan pjg lebar ni still terpahat dlm igtan die walaupun last aku jumpe dan beraya dgn die about 10 years ago huhuhu.....
Apepun aku doakan arwah ditempatkan dgn org2 yang soleh dan beriman sbb die akan tolong org esp saudara mara semampu yang boleh walaupun die berpangkat besar. Amin..
p/s: Kalau kebumi kat kampung halaman lebih baik kan??Sejarah dan aset negeri Pahang yang tak ternilai...
